Writer's picture: Renee WilliamsRenee Williams

Traditionally, the red rose has a very clear meaning, it says loud and clear “I love You”.

  • Red roses have been the symbol of love since ancient times—way before Tinder was a thing!

  • In ancient Rome, lovers would exchange roses to express their affection, probably because, and lets be honest, they probably were not really looking for a lover full of personality lol.

  • According to legend, the first red rose grew from the blood of Venus, the goddess of love. Talk about a dramatic backstory!

  • Roses are  the original and most popular choice of flower for Valentine’s day. If you want to tell someone you love them, a red rose usually does the trick.

So do you need Red Roses this Valentine's Day?

In our humble florist opinion, the answer is a resounding NO!

Unless, of course, you want to be just like every other love-struck Romeo out there. Who wants to blend in with the crowd when you can stand out like a flamingo at a penguin party?

Your lover wants to know that you know them, like,

A modern arrangement of deep reds, maroon, and pink seasonal flowers will tell your lover that you're thinking of them—and that you have a flair for the dramatic! Plus, a locally made gifts and most definitely a sweet treat with a personalized card message can fill in the blanks. Just remember, “I love you” is great, but “I love you more than pasta” might just seal the deal!

Flowers can deliver so many different messages:

"I love you as much as pasta"

"Meow, purr purr, meow."

"Let put our TULIPS together"

"You give me butterflies and boners"

" Happy V Day. P.S - your V makes my D happy."
